Event Details
Point Nepean is a beach area, which was traditionally used by the Army. It’s a walk with plenty of Historic buildings.
Please note, we will be walking through the beach for a short distance. So ensure you don’t wear fancy dress-wear leather shoes. We’re not planning to go super fast, so if you need to be in a rush, this probably isn’t the best choice for you. You MUST stay with the group
This is easy… It’s just a bit long for some people possibly
Some of the places of interest we’ll pass are
* Information Centre
* Quarantine Station
* Cheviot Hill
* Harold Holt Memorial
* Fort Pearce
* Fort Nepean
* Engine House
* Cemetery
* Gunners Cottage
* The Beach
We may modify the walk if the extra beach entrance point has opened up and end it on the beach on the other side without backtracking

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
Seaford RSL is immediately across from Seaford Train Station on the Frankston Train line.
PLAN:
We will meet outside Seaford RSL. It’s across from Seaford Train station (you can park there).
We’ll then carpool (as people want), and go to the Point Nepean Information Centre and begin the hike.
EQUIPMENT
No technical equipment is required.
* Sunscreen. Melanoma isn’t cool..
* Hat
* Long Sleeved hiking shirt may be a good idea if hot..
* I’ll probably be bringing Runners for this one (but each to their own)
* Layered clothing.
* Trekking poles (if you’re into that kind of thing)
* Food
* Water.
* Toilet paper..
* I’ll bring a first aid kit, but it doesn’t hurt to bring extra’s.
* If you have a YellowBrick or a SPOT, bring it. I’ll be bringing an Inreach.
* Don’t overpack your bag, and don’t wear tight pants (unless they’re activewear). Your knees will hurt and you’ll get tired if they’re tight and don’t flex well..
* Don’t wear tight jeans.. That’s silly.
LIVE GPS TRACKING:
You can track us live on GPS maps at: https://adventure-buddies.net/tracking/
RISK MANAGEMENT:
I’ll be bringing a Satellite Messenger with GPS tracking capabilities. It’s a low risk hike anyway.
